Dear Friends,
It is an honor
and privilege to serve the Lord with you. As we move forward
in ministry together, grounded in prayer and the Bible, those
who have a heart for God are not informed but transformed by
the good news of Jesus Christ!
The church used
to be the place to turn for healing, wholeness and hope and
now the church is just one of many places to consider when searching
to establish identity and find rest. We are a broken people
and a broken society. We struggle with broken marriages, broken
families, broken dreams and broken spirits. But in Christ we
can be made whole again. Our challenge as a church is to seek
and meet people’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
This means not just declaring the good news but making it relevant
to our lives. Many people may know stories from the Bible but
it is my hope that we see God’s word as a living word
that can bring life and transformation to our lives here and
now. And as we do that we might see “church” as
something to be rather than something to do. It is important
that we help people both inside and outside the walls of the
church to become disciples of Christ, living a life Monday through
Sunday in a vital relationship with God.
It is my hope that
the one true Hope found in Jesus Christ is discussed and wrestled
with in honest, open and safe settings both inside the church
and outside in the community.
