The youth group of
Unionville Presbyterian Church meets on Sunday evenings from
6-8 p.m. The UPC youth group includes grades 6-12.
Most youth group meetings include games (usually very active)
and a short “program” followed by a time of prayer.
We always have an assortment of foods for snacking, most of
which do not fit into any of the major food groups. We sometimes
go offsite for an afternoon or evening activity such as bowling
or mini-golf.
Our main objective
as a group is fellowship, enjoying each other’s company
and sharing each other’s lives. This year we will begin
a conversation about discipleship.
The youth group has
been involved in a number of service projects around the church
property including cleaning out the church attic, repainting
the church kitchen and bi-annual roadside trash pick-up.
We try to take an
active, supporting role in any church activity such as the Annual
Strawberry Festival. The youth are also involved in mission.
Each year they are actively involved in our Vacation Bible School,
which is largely an outreach program for our community. The
youth serve as set-up and tear-down crew, group leaders and
as workshop instructors.
We attend youth conferences
on a yearly basis, most recently the 2007 Creation Festival
in Mt. Union, PA in June. We plan to return to Creation in June
2008.
The youth group events
for the remainder of 2007 include the UPC Prayer Labyrinth,
Sr. High retreat to Lewes Delaware, and Dave Crowder Concert.
Please join us!
